What does jet ski insurance cover?
Jet Ski Insurance
- Third-party liability—up to £3m cover for you and others using your jet ski.
- Theft—covers your jet ski/PWC whilst ashore, even if it’s outside.
- Damage—fire, explosion, and impact damage, including grounding or stranding.
- European cover—includes jet ski insurance on inland coastal waters of EEA countries and Switzerland for up to 30 days per year.
- Transit—transit and trailer cover for those long journeys to your favourite locations.
- Unnamed experienced drivers—family and friends are covered if they have experience and are age 16+ (includes cover for accompanied drivers 14+).
- Legal protection—up to £100k legal expenses to pursue damages or defend criminal prosecutions.
- Water skis and water toys—liability cover for both available.
- Discount—5% discount available for installing a tracker system and 5% for having the jet ski data tagged.
- Savings for summer use only—if you’re not going to use your Jet ski or PWC from November to February we will give you a discount.

Although there is currently no legal requirement for a PWC/Jet Ski rider to have insurance, local byelaws may require otherwise. Most launch sites will ask for third-party liability insurance.

A Personal Watercraft (PWC), also known as a Jet Ski, is a water jet driven craft designed to carry between one and four people. Compared to speedboats and powercraft, PWCs are easier to launch, recover, and store, offering riders a closer connection to the water through their directional water jet propulsion.
- 1-seaters—sporty and fast, ideal for solo riders.
- 2-seaters—more stable than 1-seaters and easier to board, but unsuitable for towing due to limited space.
- 3- or 4-seaters—family-friendly, stable, and versatile, though heavier and harder to launch.

If you use your jet ski in either Italy, Spain, or Greece, you should contact us first so we may issue you with the certificate of compulsory insurance for those countries.

No, you aren’t legally required to have a licence for recreational use of a jet ski in UK waters. However, you do need a licence from the Jet Sport Racing Association of Great Britain (JRSA) if you want to partake in jet ski racing.
