Partnering with the RNLI

Since 2018, GJW Direct have been working in partnership with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to support their efforts to save lives at sea and end preventable drowning. The charity, where volunteers make up 95% of the organisation, operates a 24/7 search and rescue lifeboat service and seasonal lifeguard patrols to help those in difficulty in the water.

Fundraising is key to ensure they can continue to do this, and their prevention work is also vital to avoid people getting into difficulty.

To date, GJW Direct customers have generously donated over £120,000 which will enable the RNLI to continue its vital lifesaving work. As a charity, the RNLI relies on donations, so the support given by GJW Direct customers has been valuable to continue the work they do.

GJW Direct have been able to share the RNLI’s water safety advice to customers, providing them with advice on how they can keep themselves safe when enjoying time on the water.

A quick word from our Managing Director...

"GJW Direct is committed to making sure our customers and audience are fully aware of the importance of staying safe at sea, whether racing enthusiasts, leisure sailing, living on board a boat, or taking the family on a sailing holiday - everyone should know the basics of staying safe on and around water and maintaining their lifejacket(s) in full working order. The RNLI's Respect the Water campaign plays a significant role in this, and we are very proud to be working in conjunction with the RNLI on this initiative."
